- ROLLING MATCH REPORT
- After a quiet opening 17 minutes Gateshead when Macaulay Langstaff had a chance shot which goalkeeper Brandon Hall flapped at before gathering at the second time of asking.
- Straight up the other end a chance shot by Miles Storey flew over from a tight angle.
- On his debut defender Jamie Egan almost gave the Bulls the lead rising high to meet a corner only to see Chapman meet his header.
- The Bulls should have had a 30th minute lead with Miles Storey capitalising on a defensive error running through on goal only for goalkeeper Jacob Chapman to come charging out to deny him.
- Moments later Seb Revan also forced Chapman into action with a tight angled shot.
- That sparked the visitors into action and Macaulay Langstaff forced Brandon Hall into a save before moments later seeing an ambitious effort fly wide with the Bulls goalkeeper beaten.
- Gateshead did have the ball in the net with moments of the first half remaining only to see it chalked off.
- Campbell saw his effort dropped by Hall who was judged to have been fouled by Langstaff as the ball was prodded home.
- After the break Langstaff also caused problems seeing his cross cleared at the back post by Dinesh Gillela before pulling a second chance back for Taylor Charters who swept the ball wide.
- Gateshead were probing for an opener and Gillela denied Langstaff before from the resulting move Cedwyn Scott headed home from an off-side position.
- The opener came on 64 minutes when Charters saw his effort blocked in a busy box and Jack Hunter was on hand to fire the loose ball home.
- The Bulls should have pulled a goal back at the death as substitute Zeli Ismail got to the byline and picked out Storey who headed wide with the goal at his mercy.
