I WAS very disappointed to see that Earl Mortimer College in Leominster was having a BTEC course for students to study exotic animals (Hereford Times, December 30).

The trade in exotic animals is horrific.
Many are captured from the wild and then have to spend the rest of their lives as prisoners in glass cages.
Students should be learning ways of keeping animals in their natural habitat.
This is the way forward for our natural world.
