- At the other end the Bulls almost had a fortunate opener as Tom Owen-Evans intercepted a goal kick by Danny Lewis before blazing over from a tight angle.
- The best effort fell to James Vincent on 19 minutes controlling the ball inside the box before forcing Lewis into a fine save.
- Brackley were providing a threat in front of goal and Glenn Walker controlled acrobatically before firing over.
- It took 36 minutes for Dinesh Gillela to show his forward strength beating his man before firing the ball back across the box missing everybody.
- Brackley would have the final chance of the first half with Twariq Usif firing wide after the ball fell nicely for him on the edge of the box.
- Krystian Pearce was showing his value in the Bulls defence and denied leading goal-scorer Lee Ndlovu who looked through on goal.
- Brackley goalkeeper Lewis then made a double save to deny Hereford the opener.
- Firstly Gordon beat the off-side trap before seeing his effort from a tight angle saved and then from the rebound Lewis got his fingertips to deny Owen-Evans rifled effort from inside the box.
- That double save was even more important on 55 minutes when Brackley took the lead at the other end.
- Tre Mitford found himself in space inside the box before firing into the bottom corner.
- Brandon Hall in the Bulls goal was forced to make a vital 67th minute save to keep the game alive denying Matt Lowe's driven effort.
- Mitford should have sealed the points with 17 minutes remaining after some smart passing unlocked the Bulls defence, but the striker saw his effort tipped over by Hall.
- As Brackley controlled the tie Hereford were dealt a further blow when Krystian Pearce was shown a straight red card for a late challenge with a minute remaining.
