ROAD bans and hefty fines have been handed to more Herefordshire speeders after they were caught breaking the limit.

Here are the latest Herefordshire speeders to appear before the courts:

Michael Phillip White, 69, entered a guilty plea to magistrates in Hereford.

The court heard White had been caught breaking the limit in his Mercedes in a 30 miles per hour zone on the A443 at Great Witley on April 4.

White, of Saltmarsh, Bromyard, was disqualified from driving for six months due to repeat offending, received six penalty points, and was fined £120. He must also pay costs of £90 and a £34 victim surcharge.

Stephen Marson Peet, 55, entered a guilty plea to magistrates in Hereford.

The court heard Peugeot driver Peet had been caught speeding in a 60 miles per hour variable speed limit zone on the M5 in Worcestershire on April 29.

Peet, of Pixley, Ledbury, was fined £336 and received five penalty points. He must also pay costs of £90 and a £34 victim surcharge.

Nelson Smith, 67, was proven guilty by magistrates in Hereford.

The court heard Smith had been caught breaking the 40 miles per hour limit on the A4104 Main Street in Defford in an MG on April 30.

Smith, of Tinkers Corner, Ledbury, was fined £220 and received three penalty points. He must also pay costs of £90 and a £34 victim surcharge.

Paul George Shields, 45, entered a guilty plea to magistrates in Hereford.

The court heard Volkswagen driver Shields had been caught speeding in a 50 miles per hour zone on the A40 at Pencraig in Herefordshire on May 3.

Shields, of Whitchurch, Ross-on-Wye, was fined £383 and received six penalty points. He must also pay costs of £90 and a £38 victim surcharge.
