- ROLLING MATCH REPORT
- Despite playing against a gale in the first half Hereford should have had a ninth minute lead.
- Levi Andoh broke out wide before crossing for Dan Smith to bring the ball down to Tom Owen-Evans who snatched at the chance and blazed over.
- On 15 minutes Southport had three chances to take the lead when Jared Hodgkiss failed to clear the ball inside his box and Josh Hmami capitalised.
- Hmami forced a save from Brandon Hall before the rebound was blocked off the line by Luke Haines and then Dylan Vassallo rifled the third effort just wide.
- In a difficult game dominated by the wind conditions Brandon Hall had to collect a cross at the second attempt in a nervous moment before Ryan McLean broke and his cross from the byline was just cleared from Tom Owen-Evans.
- Southport's best chance of the first half came seconds before the break with Jordan Archer glancing his header off the crossbar.
- With the wind on their backs in the second half the Bulls came forward and Levi Andoh's cross was headed just over by Jaanai Gordon with the goalkeeper beaten.
- However, it was Southport who took a 52nd minute lead when Luke Haines failed to deal with a ball into the box and Connor Woods saw his effort saved by Hall into the path of Jordan Archer to put his side ahead.
- Hall was forced into action again on the 62nd minute this time denying Woods' effort from a tight angle.
- Marcus Carver was next to test the Hereford goal with Marcus Carver flashing his effort over after no foil was awarded for Dan Smith who looked to have ben fouled.
- Woods was in again on 77 minutes turning Krystian Pearce before firing his effort into the side-netting.
- The Bulls were desperate for a way back into the game and substitutes Miles Storey linked up with Zeli Ismail whose effort was sent over.
- With five minutes remaining Southport secured the points with a second goal.
- A back pass by James Vincent got caught in the mud and Brandon Hall saw his clearance deflected to Connor Woods who gratefully fired home.
