BUDDING student photographers have been snapped up by an acclaimed Herefordshire photographer for their recent work.
Nearly 200 budding student photographers from Fairfield High School, in Peterchurch, have been taking photos to showcase their artistic talents and compete for a place in their 2022 calendar.
Billie Charity, the award-winning Hay-on-Wye based photographer and co-curator of photography gallery, Thru the Lens, judged the competition.
She faced the tough task of narrowing down the entries to a final thirteen.
"It's been an absolute pleasure to see the level of quality, creativity and talent in Fairfield High School students' photography," she said.
"It was extremely challenging to select a final set of winning shots from so many wonderful images. I hope each and every student that entered the competition will continue their interest in photography."
Each winning shot will feature on a full colour page of the 2022 calendar, sponsored by generous local businesses.
It challenged students across all year groups to enter their best work, with a theme of My Surroundings.
Students have risen to the challenge with a wide range of material, from images of everyday life to stunning landscapes.
The fundraising photographic competition was led by school art teacher, Emma Bridger, and the school's parent teacher association (PTA).
Fairfield High School PTA chair, Tatiana Hughes, said: "In a year when school fundraising events have been severely limited due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this wonderful calendar will play an important part in raising funds for learning experiences for our students."
The names of the students involved are Asher Freer (year seven), Tristan Wheeler (year 10), Seren Beales (year seven), Anastasia Hughes (year nine), Arla Waterhouse (year seven), Ella Collins-Cole (year nine), Joel Johnson (year seven), Poppy Wood-Cole (year seven), Yasmina Alzheyrey (year nine), Lara Main (year seven), Alfie Andrews (year seven), Erinn Gallagher (year 10) and Freya Stinchcombe (year 10).
