A SPEEDING driver has escaped a roads ban after telling magistrates it would cause him to lose his home.
James Mark Wilsher was convicted by magistrates in Cardiff.
The court heard the 35-year-old had been caught breaking the limit in a 50 miles per hour zone on the A40 at Pencraig on March 26.
Wilsher, of Paget Road, Barry, was fined £290 and received four penalty points.
No totting disqualification was made as the court found a ban would cause Wilsher to lose his job, his home, and to be unable to support his children.
Wilsher must also pay costs of £110 and a £34 victim surcharge.
