A CAT had to be put down after its leg got caught in an illegal trap.
A 'gin trap' had been used which has been illegal to use in Britain since 1958.

The cat had its leg caught in a field in Tyberton.
Police said the cat had managed to get home to its owner but was put down as a result of the injury sustained.
"This barbaric thing will be destroyed," said police in a statement.
