In reply to: Parking charges are killing Hereford shops
Jayne & Phil's visit to the brilliant Grayson Perry exhibition in Hereford Museum & Art Gallery in their splendid motor car is a Ladybird Book winner of a letter. I found empty roads here in 1981.
There's the frequent Stagecoach X3 (£5.70 return) from the adjoining Pontrilas village (I remember considerate street parking, though a pavement links Ewyas Harold village) say depart at 9.39am and arrive in Hereford at 10.02am.
Perhaps an adventure one day awaits when Pontrilas rail station re-opens and then pits its engine against the Stagecoach X3.
But villages also need frequent local buses.
Please bus-it on the free weekend county buses. With support modern buses will then start to appear and free-up roads again.
Meanwhile, and this applies also to buses, for fresh air and silence sake, please switch off engines when stationary for more than 10 seconds.
