A FEATURE film is being shot on an isolated farm in Herefordshire.

The independent film project titled Isaac, which is described as an "experiment gone wrong movie".

OTHER NEWS:

The film, which is classed as a science fiction/drama/horror, is set in the near future and follows the story of husband and wife Nicholas (Johnny Vivash) and Sarah (Kathryn Louise), who have lost their first child due to a genetic mutation.

They find hope in a new scientific trial launched by a company specialising in lab-grown meat.

The company is using its gene technology to create humans.

This will allow Nicholas and Sarah to design their own genetically modified child, free of disease (or so they are promised).

The film is the idea of London-based filmmaker Tariq Sayed, and filming began in Pembridge in March 2020, just weeks before the lockdown.

Mr Sayed was leant the farm location by his auntie and filming took about seven days.

The Pembridge community also helped behind the scenes making sure the film crew had everything they needed.

After a successful block of filming, Mr Sayed, who along with some childhood friends who funded the £6,000 project themselves, decided to make a feature-length film.

"By the end of it we discovered that we had a 45-minute film which I was reasonably happy with, however, seeing what we had edited together only inspired more ideas on how to expand the story, develop characters and we all decided to push on to turn the 45 minutes into a feature film," he said.

"I carried on writing, getting more people involved and eventually we were able to roll the cameras once again.

"After capturing a large portion of the film earlier this year, we are now getting ready for the final block of filming and are finally nearing the finish line of principle photography."

The film's cast includes Catriona MacColl, who appeared in a trio of Lucio Fulci films back in the early 1980s, and Irish actor Bosco Hogan, who is going to be travelling from his home town to appear in the film.

The film crew are still recruiting members for the final block of filming in January and would love it if people got in touch with us via their website or at info@isaacfilm.co.uk.
