I AM writing regarding the petition for the bus service to be reinstated along Westfaling Street, Hereford.

READ MORE: Without a bus, we have to pay for taxis, ask for lifts, or go without

I have lived on the Green Lanes estate since 1965 and for years we had a service via Westfaling Street every 30 minutes, originally taking in Breinton

Road to the old people’s home, and Breinton Avenue.

This was a double-decker, and although there were always many parked cars, there was no problem.

I note that the comment that there are numerous buses along Whitecross Road.

They do not go up the steep hill to Westfaling Street.

Not all elderly people can carry shopping and the 71A bus does not always turn up – what about the 1pm service which seems to disappear from time to time?
