HEREFORDSHIRE woke up to sub-zero temperatures this morning, with one part of the county among the lowest in the country.

Shobdon saw temperatures drop to -1.4 Celsius this morning, according to WeatherHQ.

Environment Agency manager for Herefordshire and Worcestershire Dave Throup said the reading made Shobdon one of the coldest places in the UK this morning.

And in Withington, Hereford Times Camera Club member Ade Radnor captured stunning drone pictures of mist swathing fields.

But conditions are set to warm up through the day, according to the Met Office, with largely dry and fine conditions expected through the morning.

A scattering of showers is forecast for the afternoon, possibly turning heavy in the far west, with a maximum temperature of 11 Celsius.

Temperatures will again fall overnight, with mostly clear conditions leading to a chilly night with a touch of frost in places.
