UNINSURED Herefordshire drivers have been handed hefty fines after they were caught on the roads.

Here are the most recent Herefordshire cases heard by magistrates

Craig William Bowcott, 40, was proven guilty by magistrates in Hereford.

The court heard Bowcott had been caught driving a Mazda 3 on Ledbury's New Street without insurance on February 17.

Bowcott, of Eton Drive, Ledbury, was disqualified from driving for six months due to repeat offending and received eight penalty points. He was also fined £660, and must pay costs of £90 and a £66 victim surcharge.

Carla Dayas, 26, was proven guilty by magistrates in Hereford.

The court heard Dayas had driven a Ford Focus without insurance on the A44 at Lyonshall in Herefordshire on April 2.

Dayas, of Kings Court, Presteigne, was fiend £660 and received eight penalty points. She must also pay costs of £90 and a £66 victim surcharge.

Domantas Sakinis, 24, entered a guilty plea to three charges to magistrates in Bromley.

The court heard Sakinis had been caught behind the wheel of a Fiat on the A13 slip road in London on March 23.

He was also found to have two tyres with the cord exposed on the same date.

Sakinis, of Tennyson Close, Hereford, was fined £120 and received six penalty points. He must also pay costs of £100 and a £34 victim surcharge.

Andrew Neil Baker, 46, was proven guilty by magistrates in Worcester.

The court heard Baker had driven a Seat on the A40 at Ross-on-Wye without insurance on April 14.

Baker, of Oakfield Drive, Cofton Hackett, was fined £660 and ordered to pay costs of £90 and a £66 victim surcharge.

Derek Raymond Smith, 45, was proven guilty by magistrates in Worcester.

The court heard Smith had been caught behind the wheel of a Ford Transit on Hereford's Belmont Road without insurance on March 12.

Smith, of Chandos Street, Hereford, was fined £660, received six penalty points, and was disqualified rom driving for six months due to repeated offending. He must also pay costs of £90 and a £34 victim surcharge.

Fredrick Rehschuh, 28, entered a guilty plea to magistrates in Worcester.

The court heard Rehschuh had driven a Volkswagen Jetta on Hereford's Holmer Road without insurance o April 12.

A tyre on the car was also found to have insufficient tread on the same date.

Rehschuh, of Swan Road, Gloucester, was fined a total of £700 and received six penalty points. He must also pay costs of £90 and a £70 victim surcharge.
