A HEREFORDSHIRE drink-driver has been handed a suspended sentence after he was caught behind the wheel while more than three times the limit.
Ion-Adrian Todea entered a guilty plea when he appeared before magistrates in Worcester.
The court heard the 37-year-old had been caught driving a Skoda Fabia in Malvern's Worcester Road while over the drink-drive limit on September 24.
An evidential blood test revealed he had 125 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, more than three times the legal limit of 35.
Magistrates said the very high reading made the offence so serious that only a custodial sentence was justified, and handed Todea, of Masefield Avenue, Ledbury, a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months.
He was also disqualified from driving for 30 months, handed 100 hours of unpaid work, and must pay costs of £135 and a £128 victim surcharge,
