- Moments later Boston responded and Tom Platt headed a corner wide.
- The Bulls went behind on 17 minutes when a series of defensive mistakes led to Jordan Burrows capitalising and firing home the opening goal.
- The Bulls were struggling to get a grip of their hosts in the first half and Joe Leesley saw an effort deflected wide.
- Five minutes before the break Hereford came back into the tie and Owen-Evans saw his effort flash wide before also going close moments later.
- Just three minutes after half-time Storey had another opportunity beating his man for pace before firing his effort wide.
- A moment of misfortune for Harry Pinchard almost allowed Boston a second goal with the midfielder slipping but Danny Elliott headed the resulting cross over.
- With the Bulls probing for an equaliser they were hit on the break with Shane Byrne feeding Elliott who blazed over.
- Next to go close for Boston was Jordan Burrow who flashed his header wide.
- With seven minutes remaining Hereford almost snatched an equaliser with Storey breaking through before seeing his effort hit the post and cleared off the goal-line.
- From the resulting corner Pollock sent his effort over.
- However, any faint hope of an equaliser was ended in the dying moments when referee Michael Bardlow harshly awarded a penalty against Pollock after his foul on Jake Wright Junior which Shane Byrne dispatched.
