A COUPLE have welcomed their "miracle rainbow baby" after 12 years battling infertility.

Natalie and Lucas Glackin, who live off London Road, are settling into life as parents after giving birth to Thomas on September 23.

It has been a long journey for the couple who met at Blessed Edwards High School to become parents.

The couple, both aged 33, started dating at 18 and have been trying to fall pregnant for 12 years.

However, Natalie has polycystic ovary syndrome which made it difficult to fall pregnant and the couple suffered five miscarriages.

Worcester News:

She said: "We always had a little bit of hope but said if it doesn't happen, it doesn't happen and we would accept that.

"It was a very big surprise when I fell pregnant we didn't expect it at all.

"I was feeling really tired and emotional so I told my husband I was going to take a test and it was positive.

"It was a bit scary after the losses. You don't want to get too excited but you do have hope."

Throughout the pregnancy the couple had extra scans where they said they could see Thomas grow from a 'sunflower seed' to the baby he is now.

After Natalie was induced at Worcestershire Royal Hospital Thomas arrived on his due date at 6.34pm tipping the scales at 7lb 13oz.

Worcester News:

"I think it took a good minute or so to realise that he was there but when I did I broke down in tears.

"We're now just adjusting to life and getting used to night feeds but we're very lucky, he's an easy going baby.

"He's our little miracle baby."
