A NEW café has opened at a Herefordshire train station.

The Snugg Cafe has now opened at Leominster Train Station. The new addition is located on platform one.

The café's owner Lorna Maw said that it's been a long process to get to the opening of the café.

She said: "It took me about six months to buy it and get everything approved. As a result, I haven't really been able to shout about it as much as I'd like.

"I don't think there's been a café there for a few years, it seems the space has been used as a variety of things. But we've got it back to being a café."

The Snugg is currently open from 6.30am to 2.30pm, but plans are in place to extend its opening time until 6.30pm.

"It's a great location for the business, there's a steady flow of railway-users using it throughout the day."

Leominster's new Snugg Cafe is the third to have been opened in Herefordshire. Prior to the pandemic, Mrs Maw ran two Snugg cafés in Bromyard and Ledbury.

She said the effects of the pandemic have made her adapt her business to post-covid habits.

"Because of the pandemic we wanted to offer a great take-out service, as well as having a cafe for people to sit in.

"People are changing their habits when it comes to being in close, tight spaces.

"We wanted to be able to offer something that reflects this, rather than relying on people staying in."
