A REPEAT offender has been handed a hefty penalty after he was caught driving without insurance.

Christopher Jones, of Mansel Gamage, Herefordshire, was proven guilty by magistrates in Bromley, London.

The court heard the 51-year-old had been caught behind the wheel of an LDV van in Westhorne Avenue, London, without insurance on February 18.

Jones was disqualified from driving for 12 months due to repeat offending and fined £660. He must also pay costs of £100 and a £66 victim surcharge.
