AN ABUSIVE Herefordshire man failed to turn up for his court hearing after he was released on bail.

Victor Collett entered a guilty plea when he appeared before magistrates in Kidderminster.

The court heard the 36-year-old had used threatening and abusive words and behaviour likely to cause alarm and distress in Hereford on September 12.

He was released on police bail, but then failed to surrender to the custody of Hereford Magistrates Court without reasonable excuse on September 29.

Collett, of Campbell Road, Hereford, was fined a total of £120 and must pay a £34 victim surcharge. No costs order was made due to his low means.
