  • The opening goal came three minutes before the break with an elegant Harry Pinchard chip finding Tom Owen-Evans who turned before sweeping the ball home.
  • Merstham's first effort came just before the break with James Richmond flicking his header just wide.
  • The hosts should have been level a minute into the second half with Dylan Adjei-Hersey crossing onto the head of Anderson who somehow put his effort wide.
  • Hereford punished their visitors for the miss with another piece of class from Pinchard picking out the top corner from outside the box.
  • The Bulls could have put the game beyond any doubt with 20 minutes remaining with substitute Ryan McLean seeing his effort blocked on the line before Ollie Hulbert also had his effort blocked.
  • SAVE
  • Owen-Evans then sees his effort from an angle saved by the goalkeeper

  • PRE-MATCH
  • HEREFORD have made the trip to Surrey for their FA Cup third qualifying round tie to face Merstham FC.
  • The Bulls are now four matches unbeaten after winning their first league game of the season at York City on Tuesday night.
  • The winner will receive £5,625 with the loser receiving £1,875.

  • The pitch has coped brilliantly with the rain and I don't think the game is in any doubt.
  • A draw would result in the game being replayed at Edgar Street on Tuesday (October 5).
  • Hereford were held to a 2-2 draw at Lymington in the second qualifying round before beating them 4-0 in the replay.
  • Hereford do have some injury concerns with Myles Storey, Yan Klukowski, James Vincent, Krystian Pearce and Luke Haines all missing Tuesday night’s win at York.
  • Hereford under-18 community side captain Ryan Price and midfielder Joe Speake have been promoted to the club's first team along with Harley Morris.
