- Hereford Pride is taking place today at venues across the city today.
- Drag queen Boo La Croux, otherwise known as Dean Goodwin-Evans, has been one of the driving forces behind the event for the county's lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ+) community.
- Mr Goodwin-Evans, who lives with husband Paul in Eardisley, near Kington, said he benefited from LGBTQ+ support when he was made homeless when he came out as gay as the age of 16.
- He wanted to make sure there was the same level of support in Herefordshire, having moved to the county in 2019 and worked as a hairdresser.
- Starting at 11am at The Courtyard in Edgar Street, there will be information, craft stalls and workshops to get involved with.
- At midday Hereford's Mayor Paul Stevens will formally open Hereford Pride, together with host and current Miss Drag UK Boo La Croux.
- There will also be a post-Pride party at Babar Cafe in Union Street from 7pm until late with "LGBTQ+ disco hits".
