A HEREFORD driver stands to lose everything after being arrested on a Hereford road.
Craig Prince, 31, of Wellington, Hereford, pleaded guilty at Hereford Magistrates Court.
Prosecutor, Mark Hambling, told the court that on April 4 at 4.45pm, Prince was stopped by police while driving a Kia Picanto on Bodenham Road in Hereford. .
He provided a roadside swab which came back positive for cannabis metabolite delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol.
He was taken into police custody where he gave a blood sample, which recorded 2.3 micrograms in a litre of blood, exceeding the legal limit of 2.
Chris Reid, defence solicitor, said it was the lowest reading he'd ever seen.
He said the 31-year-old had used cannabis some time before he had been stopped and had no idea it would stay in his system for that long.
He said that as a result of the incident Prince had lost his job and his mental health had deteriorated, and that he and his partner stood to lose everything they've got.
He was banned from driving for 12 months and fined £64 by the court. He must also pay a surcharge of £34 and costs of £135.
