A MAN has been arrested after a raid on a home in a Herefordshire village.

The raid was carried out by officers from Hereford this morning just before 10.30am today (September 23) in Cedar Close, Moreton-on-Lugg.

PCSO Adam Westlake said officers had taken the action in response to neighbourhood concerns, after neighbours reported that the home was receiving up to 20 visitors a day and that they were concerned drug dealing may be taking place at the home.

Officers, who were able to make their way in to the home without forcing entry, found around £1,100 of cannabis stashed in the home. They also found small wraps of the drug, £250 cash, one cannabis plant, a BB gun, and various items of drug paraphernalia.

They were aided by police drug dog, Alfie.

One of the home's occupants, a male, was in the home when police entered. He was arrested and taken to Hereford Police Station, where he will be interviewed by police.

A police spokesperson said: " A 26 year old male is currently in custody for possession with intent to supply. 

"A large amount of cannabis has been seized after a warrant was executed in Cedar Close.

"The warrant was part of our on-going work to shut down the distribution of drugs in our community. It was our community and partners that spoke to us and who told us of the drug dealing at this address and we acted on this intelligence.
