EAGLE-EYED shoppers in Herefordshire might have had to do a double-take over recent days as teddy bears started to appear in windows around town centres.
The carefully hidden bears are part of a big competition, organised by Girlguiding Herefordshire.
The organisation is on the lookout for new members and volunteers, with the window spotting competition aiming to raise awareness.
It is inviting locals to take a walk and hunt down these little creatures in the shop windows in Hereford, Leominster, Ledbury, Ross-on-Wye and Bromyard.
It said there are 10 bears in each town to be discovered between September 18 and October 3.
"Join our window spotting competition for your chance to win a bear and discover more about Girlguiding in your area," a spokesperson said.
"Entry is simple using the QR displayed in the shop window. The competition closes on October 9, see our website for more information."
County commissioner Sue Bucknell said: "This is a great way to get involved in Girlguiding Herefordshire while at the same time having some fun and enjoying a leisurely stroll with your friends & family."
