LEOMINSTER High Street will be closing for a day as work is carried out on a building.
Herefordshire Council said the U93624 High Street would shut on September 19.
It would be closed to vehicles from the junction with Church Street to Victoria Street, with traffic diverted via Broad Street, New Street, Cursneh Road, Dishley Street, Westbury Street, South Street and High Street.
Access to Corn Square would be maintained through the temporary lifting of the one-way restriction.
Guttering and roof work will be carried out, with the road closure needed due to the danger the works would pose to the public.
