CELEBRITY singer James Arthur showed his skills on the football pitch when the ‘Sellebrity Soccer’ match at Edgar Street was held on Sunday.

The game, featured the ‘White’ and ‘Blue’ teams, competing against each other to raise funds for Herefordshire Mind.

The whites featured YouTube stars Sharky, Duttinho and Chunkz alongside Bulls assistant manager Steve Burr, whilst manager Josh Gowling, AFC Wimbledon all-time leading goal scorer Kevin Cooper and former X Factor winner James Arthur turned out in blue.

Sharky opened the goal-scoring in the affair, cutting inside and finishing to give the Whites the lead. Kris Boyson levelled for the Blues just minutes later.

The frenzy continued as the Blues overturned their deficit to lead through the towering TOWIE star Dan Osborne, who chipped the ‘keeper. Former runner and Love Island contestant Theo Campbell then tucked past Joe Sealey to level it at 2-2.

James Arthur netted his first of the afternoon to restore Blues’ lead, just before Campbell slotted in his second.

‘Say You Won’t Let Go’ singer Arthur then latched on to a through ball from F2’s Jeremy Lynch to once again give the Blues an advantage, before Paterson levelled for the Whites once more.

With just five minutes to go, Bulls legend Rob Purdie scored a breathtaking goal to win the Whites the match.

Mr Cooper, who is also a co-founder of Sellebrity Soccer, said: “It was an outstanding event to both have played in and experienced. There were lots of goals, and the weather was really kind to us.

“James Arthur and Chunkz both had good days, despite James being on the losing side. I think the crowd had a really good day, and certainly helped the event.”
