THREE Herefordshire athletes have made the trip to Tokyo for the Olympic Games, taking place between July 23 and August 8.

Rowing

Sisters Mathilda and Charlotte Hodgkins-Byrne will be back in action on Sunday.

The pair finished third in their heat this morning behind Germany and the Netherlands just 2.58 seconds behind the winners.

The pair will now be in action in the Repechage on Sunday (July 25) from 12.30am.

Equestrian

In equestrian Lucy Scudamore, who was born and grew up in Kentchurch, is groomer for dressage horse En Vogue.

En Vogue will be ridden by Carl Hester (54) based in Newent.

En Vogue is a dark bay, gelding, 12yrs, 17hh, Jazz x Contango.

Hester will begin his Olympic Games programme in the Dressage Individual Grand Prix which starts at 9am (UK time) tomorrow Saturday (July 24) and in the team event.

The Grand Prix - Team and Individual Qualifier will continue for day two on Sunday (July 25) with the session starting from 9am (UK time).

The Dressage Team 'Grand Prix Special' will see the medals decided on Tuesday (July 27) with the session starting from 9am (UK time).

The Dressage Individual 'Grand Prix Freestyle' will take place the following day Wednesday (July 28) with the session starting from 9.30am (UK time).
