THE organisation running a county vaccination centre has denied claims they closed due to a refrigerator fault.

SW Healthcare, which runs the Three Counties Showground vaccine site, responded to claims the showground site closed after one of its vaccine fridges broke down.

The organisation, which works with Herefordshire and Worcestershire CCG, said this was not true, and that the closure on July 21 and 22 was a pre-planned one.

They said: “The Three Counties Vaccination Centre was originally scheduled to be closed on these dates due to a scheduled event taking place at the showground, which has since been cancelled.

"As it was a planned closure date, our staff have been deployed elsewhere.”

The current planned closures for Three Counties are as follows:

July 22 .

August 19, 29 and 30.

September 10, 11, 23 and 26.

October 1, 3 and 13.

On other days, you can visit the Three Counties Showground from 8am-5pm Monday to Saturday, or 8am-1:30pm on Sunday, to receive your first dose of the vaccine - or your second dose, if your first was more than eight weeks ago.

The vaccination centre in St Peters, Worcester, will remain open for walk-in vaccinations, though may have to close in future when church events are going on.
