PUPILS at Hereford's Aconbury Centre have been gardening and recycling to help create a more sustainable school.
They have already gained a bronze award as part of the national Eco-Schools project and are now heading for a silver.
Food waste from the school kitchen now goes to a wormery compost and boxes for paper recycling have been placed in every classroom.
Youngsters have transformed a disused area of the school grounds into a vegetable garden and have grown strawberries, beans and salad vegetables used at lunchtimes and in cookery classes.
