CHILDREN in Shobdon can now enjoy a safe walk to school thanks to a new footpath.
A Park and Stride scheme introduced by Shobdon Primary School encourages parents to leave their cars on a car park and walk youngsters along a specially-built footpath away from the main road.
Land for the project was donated by Corbett Farms while a £11,575 grant from the Kingspan Insulation Community Trust paid for the surfacing of the area.
The deadline for the next round of applications for funding from the trust, which serves Shobdon, Pembridge and Kingsland, is March 31, 2008.
