A MAN has been ordered to pay thousands of pounds in compensation after damaging a painting and furniture.

Robert James Colquhoun entered a guilty plea when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford.

The court heard the 36-year-old had intentionally damaged an oil painting and patio furniture belonging to another person at a property in Ross-on-Wye between December 11 and 17.

Colquhoun, of Old Gore, Ross, was ordered to pay compensation of £3,424 and costs of £135.
