RUMOURS swirled on social media over the weekend that Hereford-educated actor Olly Alexander was set to become the next Dr Who.
Various newspapers have reported that the It's a Sin actor, who went to St John's Primary School in Coleford, Monmouth Comprehensive School, Hereford Sixth Form College and Hereford College of Arts, was in talks with the BBC to replace Jodie Whittaker.

Whittaker was announced as the thirteenth doctor in the long-running series in 2017, becoming the first woman to play the role.
But his manager, Martha Kinn, appeared to shoot down any speculation that Olly will be taking to the TARDIS in a post on Instagram.
In a story on her Instagram account, Ms Kinn said she was afraid she would have to exterminate this speculation as it just was not true.
