A SUSPECT tried to post a 'marine flare' through the letterbox of a Herefordshire house last night while the occupants slept inside.
Police are appealing for information after an incident which took place in Oak Lane, St Mary's Park, Burghill at around 11.40pm last night (Friday)
"Someone has attempted to post a marine flare through a letterbox," said police in a statement.
"Fortunately for the occupants who were asleep at the time, the offender(s) were unable to get the flare through the letter box and it went off on the door step.
"Officers will be conducting additional patrols in the area over the coming days."
Anybody who has any information about this incident or saw/heard anything suspicious are asked to contact police on 101 quoting incident 139 of 12/06/2021.
