A MAIN road near Ross-on-Wye has been closed overnight as firefighters tackled a blaze at an old lorry depot.
Police in the Forest of Dean said the A4136 was closed between Huntley and Mitcheldean.
They said Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service was battling a blaze at the old Richard Read transport depot in Longhope, near Lea on the Herefordshire-Gloucestershire border.
"We've been called to a fire at Longhope Business Park on Monmouth Road," the fire service said shortly after midnight.
"The incident is under control but if you're likely to be affected please make sure you keep windows closed as there's smoke in the air."
There were reports from local residents who said they heard an "explosion" in the area shortly before 10pm last night (Tuesday).
A dog unit from Gloucestershire Police was also at the scene, but officers said nobody was reported injured or trapped.
The road reopened earlier this morning (Wednesday).
