A NEW restaurant serving Korean food has announced the date it will open its doors in Hereford.

Signs had gone up at the Old Market Shopping Centre in Hereford last month to advertise the new restaurant, which has now said it will be open from Wednesday (June 2).

En BBQ said it will opening for the first time, but will do "soft opening hours" which cover evenings only until June 6.

The restaurant said this is so customers can have the "best service" while staff are still being trained.

"In this time, we will do "soft opening hours" which covers evenings only until June 6," the restaurant says.

"The soft opening hours will give you the best service from our talented team, both inside and outside the kitchen, while we are training on this unique concept of food for Hereford.

"Please be aware Mondays and Tuesdays we will be closed until further notice, due to staff training and team development."

En BBQ's website says it offers a dining experience like no other in Herefordshire.

"We are here to showcase the very best flavours that Korean cuisine has to offer, but with a local twist," it says.

"We are proud to serve fresh, high quality dishes including a variety of pre sliced meats. From Australian Wagyu to our Herefordshire ribeye, and if beef is not for you, you can also choose from pork, seafood, vegetables and more. Grill, season, dip and enjoy.

"Order food and cook it right at your table just the way you like it.

"Dine and chat with friends or make new ones at our communal dining table. Don’t want to cook? We’ve got you covered.

"You can order freshly cooked traditional Korean dishes, small plates, and our delicious Korean fried chicken straight from our kitchen.

"And if its tipple you’re after, then our new Asian inspired cocktail menu is here to offer unique drinks fresh from the mind of our in house mixologist. At eN Korean Barbecue, there is something on our menu for everyone to enjoy."

As En BBQ opens, its sister restaurant En Sushi, in Widemarsh Street, will also be moving to the unit in the Old Market.

It has taken over the old Chimichanga restaurant at the shopping centre, which closed in April 2018 as owner Prezzo shut down 94 restaurants nationally amid financial difficulties.
