A HEREFORDSHIRE pub wants to build a timber-framed gazebo to cover its outside drinking and smoking area, but needs to wait for a decision from planners.
The Golden Cross Inn at Sutton St Nicholas, near Hereford, has applied for planning permission from Herefordshire Council for the new structure.
Applicant John Murray has submitted the application to the council, and plans show he would hire more staff if the council gives him the green light.
The document shows he wants to erect a timber-framed gazebo to cover the existing drinking and smoking area outside the village pub.
The application says the gazebo would have one-metre high wooden walls on three sides, with the remainder being open sided. Wooden posts would be used to support the roof.
Currently employing two full-time staff and seven part-time, if the plans are approved the number of part-time staff could rise to nine.
Comments on application 211261 can be made until Friday, June 11, with planners expected to make a decision by Friday, June 25.
