A HEREFORDSHIRE company has been given the Queen's seal of approval as part of some prestigious annual awards.

M Lloyd Engineering, based at Stansbatch, near Leominster, is one of only 205 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise, and of only 122 winners in the international trade category.

The firm, established in 2011, has been recognised for its excellence in international trade due to its outstanding short-term growth in export sales over three years.

It designs and makes excavator mounted screening machinery, used in the agricultural, landscaping and construction sectors.

The equipment separates materials with different fraction sizes, mainly in connection with the re-use and recycling of top soil, waste and compost.

Exports form a large part of the business, around 70 per cent of sales are exports, with a network of dealers and distributors in Europe, America, Asia and Australasia.

Matthew Lloyd, founder and director, said: “It is a huge honour for Lloyd Engineering to have won The Queen’s Award for Enterprise as it recognises our successes in the UK and abroad.

We have grown significantly in recent years, which has positioned us as leaders in screening machinery, with a strong reputation for exceptional quality and service.

"This recognition is a real boost for all of the Lloyd Engineering team, our dealer network and our trusted suppliers, and it is an exciting time for the business.”

Now in its 55th year, the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise means winning businesses can use the esteemed emblem for five years.
