A MAN damaged coronavirus signs in a town on the Herefordshire border, a court has heard.

Francis Herbert was found guilty of two counts of criminal damage when he appeared before magistrates in Kidderminster.

The court heard Herbert had deliberately damaged Covid-19 signs worth a total of £300 in Tenbury Wells on June 15.

The 68-year-old had also caused £90 worth of damage to a library window in the town on the same date.

Herbert, of Bromyard Road, Tenbury, was discharged conditionally for 12 months and ordered to pay total compensation of £390.

He must also pay costs of £400 and a £22 victim surcharge.
