A HEREFORD jeweller is taking part in a new BBC Two show which aims to find the next big name in the industry.

Nicola Lillie, 25, will be one of eight jewellers battling it out on the talent show ‘All That Glitters: Britain’s Next Jewellery Star'.

They will be hoping to become the next big name in jewellery and will fave two challenges as they try and impress two of the biggest names in the business.

The first episode of the new series will air on BBC two at 8pm on Tuesday, and the series is hosted Canadian-Irish comedian, writer, presenter and actress Katherine Ryan.

Special needs teaching assistant and part time jeweller Nicola Lillie, who has a workshop at The Courtyard in Edgar Street and is a former Hereford College of Arts BA Jewellery Design student, said in an Instagram post she is "super-blessed and excited" to be part of the series.

The first challenge is the Bestseller, where they make three silver bangles, before they face the Bespoke challenge and a real client.

This week, one contestant Ben wants a pendant necklace for his mum to wear to Buckingham Palace when she collects her MBE.

The hour-long episode will see one contestant sent home by judges Shaun Leane and Solange Azagury-Partridge, both high-profile jewellery designers.

BBC Two’s All That Glitters airs tonight at 8pm.
