NON-ESSENTIAL shops reopened in Hereford on Monday alongside pubs, restaurant and beauty services across England as lockdown eased.

It was the first time the businesses have been allowed to open since December, when Herefordshire was plunged into Tier 3 of Covid-19 restrictions.

While shops have been able to offer click-and-collect services, not all did so.

And when the first shops started to open from 8am, there was a steady stream of shoppers heading into the city centre.

Primark and TK Maxx were two shops to open early, as some people were eager to head back to clothes shops after almost four months.

By 10am, a queue had formed in Widemarsh Street for Primark, with the line down to the Imperial Inn.

Debenhams also attracted a number of shoppers as the department store reopening for its final closing down sale.

Here are a selection of pictures from the city centre taken throughout Monday morning.
