The festival, which will take place in August under the shadow of Eastnor Castle, near Ledbury, described the singer as a legend after a 60-year career where he has sold more than 100 million records.

Why is Lakefest cashless?

The festival said it switched things up for 2019 and were excited to announce that it would be cashless.

Organisers said one reason was it had a huge amount of money stolen from the festival in 2018 and they do not want it to happen again.

"We operate Lakefest as a feel-good festival and that did not make us feel good," the website says.

"And the second reason is to make your festival experience the very best it can be. It’s an idea that we looked to introduce in 2018, and in hindsight we really wish we had!

"But hey, life’s all about learning from the lessons and for 2019 we are good to go.

"Cashless payments are now recognised as the global best practice at festivals around the world. They make YOUR festival experience easier, faster and safer. Your funds are attached to you at all times on your wristband and this makes for a hassle-free weekend."

Money can be loaded onto the festival-goers account before the event, or at the on-site top-up facility.

What sort of festival is Lakefest?

Set in the sublimely picturesque Eastnor Castle Deer Park in Hereford, Lakefest says it prides itself on creating a hugely enjoyable, family friendly festival where music, entertainment, family activities, fairground rides and creativity come together to "produce an unmeasured festival that will capture with hearts and minds of attendees, regardless of age".

The festival adds: "With an array of stages including the ever-popular mainstage we aim to provide a plethora of music that means regardless of musical tastes there will be something for everyone.

"Based on the ethos of being 'all inclusive and family friendly' there is a whole program of activities, music and entertainment set in the secure confines of a stunning natural valley, which is overlooked by the exquisite Eastnor Castle.

"Whether a festival ‘virgin’ or ‘pro’ Lakefest will deliver a truly unforgettable festival experience what you’ll want to rediscover year after year."
