HEREFORDSHIRE is waking up to an icy start this morning after temperatures plunged below zero overnight.

Much of the county is also waking up to a scattering of snow, which has frozen in some areas after falling last night.

Forecasters at the Met Office said the weather will remain cold and dry today (April 7) before turning warmer overnight and tomorrow.

Herefordshire will see a dry but cloudy day for most of today, with cloud increasing as the day progresses.

Conditiond will be slightly warmer than yesterday, but will still feel cold, with a maximum temperature of 7C.

Herefordshire Council said all priority routes have been gritted, but drivers are advised to allow extra travel time this morning.
