THERE are plans to demolish a redundant shop in a village near Leominster and build two bungalows on its site.
The executor of Mr and Mrs B Perry wants permission from Herefordshire Council to go ahead with the development on land at Long Acre, Westland View, in Luston.
The site is currently occupied at its eastern end by a bungalow which was built in the early 1960s and a separate brick structure now used for storage which was the village post office and stores from the early 1970s until the early 1990s.
The western end of land is occupied by a polytunnel and collapsed commercial greenhouses which were used for commercial growing of tomatoes from the 1960s to about 2010.

The new bungalows are planned for that part of the land while the Longacre bungalow will be kept. The plan is to demolish the shop to allow the access drive to be moved further west along Westland View.
Each new bungalow is designed to have a car port with electric charging point.
Consultants working on the scheme say the new homes will be designed to provide a modern aesthetic using traditional materials.
People have until April 17 to comment on the scheme on Herefordshire Council’s online planning portal.
