Bromsgrove Lib Dems have announced two doctors, a student and a High Street worker as their candidates in May’s elections to Worcestershire County Council.

Bromsgrove East candidate is Sam Evans, a 22 year-old student who has lived in the area all his life. As a local campaigner he launched a petition to save the 202 bus service and has for greater enforcement against cars parking wholly on the pavement outside a busy roundabout in Aston Fields after residents raised concerns.

Joanna McKenna, who is standing for Bromsgrove West, lives in the town with her husband and children. She is a doctor in the NHS and earlier this year she set up a petition calling for the Government to assess vaccinating teachers before schools reopen.

Dr David Nicholl, who is targeting Bromsgrove South, has lived in the town for 17 years with his wife and children and has been campaigning to hold the Government to account over their handling of Coronavirus, in particular calling for greater support for those self-isolating and the 3 million excluded from support.

Bromsgrove Central candidate Joshua Robinson works on Bromsgrove High Street and lives in the town with his wife, Siobhan, who is a teacher and district councillor. He has been campaigning to improve Bromsgrove’s High Street and, is a keen cyclist, and launched a petition to reduce speed on parts of the A38, particularly around schools.

Local Lib Dem policies include fighting for a Western Relief Road to tackle chronic congestion on the A38, particularly in the town centre.
