A HEREFORD firm says it has had its most successful year yet, despite the coronavirus pandemic.

Property maintenance company, GB Electrical & Building Services, is looking towards expansion after say hitting an £18 million turnover in 2020.

Founded in 1991, the business has grown from offering electrical installation and repair works, to a full range of building services including construction and property maintenance, with a 157-strong team.

Its customers range from residential to commercial clients, as well as public sector organisations like the Ministry of Defence.

And it is now recruiting for additional staff across its five offices, covering tradesmen, office staff and management.

To help achieve this, the business has secured a six-figure finance package from Lombard Vehicle Solutions.

The business has used the £343,500 funding to refinance 33 vehicles, part of its complete fleet of 130, and support company cash flow.

Chris Greenall, Director at GB Electrical & Building Services, said: “Thanks to the support from Lombard, we have refinanced part of our fleet following a change in company ownership and can continue to focus on our growth strategy going forward.

“2020 was our biggest year yet and despite all the challenges presented by Covid-19, we were able to make operational changes to ensure the safety of our colleagues, while continuing to deliver long-standing contracts with our customers. The business has solid foundations and is well-placed to continue to grow in 2021 and beyond.”

Sarah Rostill, Lombard Senior Relationship Manager, Graeme Parker, Lombard Vehicle Solutions Regional Sales Manager and Kimberley Kainey-Smith, NatWest Senior Relationship Manager, continue to support Chris and the team at GB Electrical & Building Services.

Sarah said: “GB Electrical & Building Services is a fantastic business that has grown from a small, family firm to a national contractor. The business has been a NatWest customer for more than 16 years and we look forward to continuing to support Chris and the team as they drive forward the company’s growth plans.”
