A HEREFORD beauty salon has been shortlisted for an award which could see it be named the best in the country.

Pure Emporium in Grandstand Road has been named as one of the finalists for the UK Hair and Beauty Awards' "best salon" accolade.

Owner Amy Card said everyone involved with the firm "couldn't be happier" and "after such doom and gloom" with lockdown laws temporarily forcing her to close the salon, it was "wonderful to hear good news".

"We may be closed, and the last 12 months have been tougher than tough, so this is just such wonderful news," Miss Card, 28, said.

"Recognition like this wouldn’t be feasible if it wasn’t for you [customers] continuing to supporting us.

"We’re forever grateful to you, our clients, for joining us, purchasing from us and trusting us.

"Let’s not be fooled by the photo, I’m not the only one at Pure Emporium.

"This means so much to the whole team. I’d have loved them to be in this pictures with me, sharing this joy.

"Their hard work, passion and dedication to looking after you in the salon is second to none – this is an ode to them too.

"Fingers crossed for the online ceremony in March – but whatever happens, we are super chuffed with just this and as far as I’m concerned, the team are all winners anyway."

The awards are set to take place online later this month.

The award organisers say they know recognition is a vital part of owning and building hair and beauty businesses, so their aim is to celebrate the hair and beauty industry, supporting businesses both large and small and exposing all candidates to a wide audience on social media.
