A BURGLAR has been handed further jail time for attacking a police officer and stealing from a garage.
Andrew John Marsh entered a guilty plea when he appeared before magistrates in Hereford.
The court heard Marsh, who is currently a serving prisoner at HMP Stoke Heath, had entered a garage in Leominster's South Street as a trespasser on May 4, stealing three bottles of cider.
The 43-year-old also admitted interfering with a motor vehicle with intent to steal it or items inside it, and assaulting a police officer acting in the course of their duties by beating on the same date.
Magistrates said the offences were serious as Marsh, had been subject to a suspended sentence, which has since been activated, as he had attacked a police officer, and as there had been a confrontation with the owner of the garage, and jailed him for a further six weeks. He must also pay a £128 victim surcharge.
