The number of recorded coronavirus cases in Herefordshire has risen by eight in the last 24 hours, official figures show.

Public Health England figures show that 6,667 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Thursday (March 4) in Herefordshire, up from 6,659 the same time on Wednesday.

The Government's online coronavirus dashboard shows just 85 people tested positive for coronavirus over the last seven days, 73 fewer than the week before.

The graph below shows the number of cases in Herefordshire by date of test, and not the day when the cases were published by PHE.

The Government website says the last five days' data is incomplete, thought to be due to a delay in results being processed.

Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 6,573 over the period, to 4,201,358.

Herefordshire's cases were among the 409,391 recorded across the West Midlands, a figure which rose by 810 over the period.

Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.

NHS England reported no further coronavirus deaths at the Wye Valley NHS Trust in Herefordshire on Thursday, meaning the toll remains at 221.
