HEREFORD'S Courtyard theatre is hosting a series of free, online workshops to celebrate World Book Week this March.

With lockdown restrictions still in place, The Courtyard education team have adapted their workshops to be delivered online via Facebook, every day during World Book Week.

Families and schools can visit The Courtyard’s Facebook page every day this week, where a practitioner will be going live at 10am every morning until March 5 to deliver creative drama workshops based around a well-known children’s book.

On March 3, The Courtyard will deliver an inclusive workshop based around popular story Room on the Broom.

On the morning of World Book Day itself children can explore David Baddiel’s AniMalcolm and bring Malcolm’s story to life. Participants will become sarcastic cats, posh pigs and cheeky monkeys, all using drama skills, and at 1.30pm, local author Alan Stott will be reading from one of the books in his bestselling series Those Kids Next Door.

Finishing off the week on March 5, children can take part in a workshop based around Zog, the keenest dragon at Dragon School. In this fun drama workshop children can learn how to become an awesome dragon too.

All of The Courtyard’s World Book Week workshops are free to take part in and will be delivered via Facebook Live at 10am each morning.

Additional resources for each workshop are also available to download at courtyard.org.uk/worldbookday.
