ANOTHER seven coronavirus cases have been reported in Herefordshire, Public Health England has said.

The latest official figures show that 6,643 people had been confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19 by 9am on Tuesday (March 3) in Herefordshire, up by just seven from 6,636 the same time on Monday.

It comes after just three cases were reported on Monday.

The Government's coronavirus dashboard shows 113 cases have been found in Herefordshire over the last seven days, 60 fewer than the week before.

 

The graph below shows the number of cases in Herefordshire by date of test, and not the day when the cases were published by PHE. There can be a few days while waiting for tests results to be returned from laboratories.

 

Across the UK, the number of recorded cases increased by 6,391 over the period, to 4,188,400.

Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.

A further 279 people who tested positive for coronavirus have died in hospital in England, bringing the total number of confirmed deaths reported in hospitals to 83,529, NHS England said on Tuesday.

Patients were aged between 17 and 102.

All except 11, aged between 17 and 89, had known underlying health conditions.

The deaths were between December 3 and March 1.

There were 30 other deaths reported with no positive Covid-19 test result.

Another death was confirmed at the Wye Valley NHS Trust in Herefordshire on Tuesday, taking the toll since March to 221.

But the NHS also said a total of 17,985,951 Covid-19 vaccinations took place in England between December 8 and March 1, according to provisional data, including first and second doses, which is a rise of 173,212 on the previous day’s figures.

Of this number, 17,373,384 were the first dose of a vaccine, a rise of 160,580 on the previous day, while 612,567 were a second dose, an increase of 12,632.
